Edge & ChristianThis Canadian pair were two of the most extreme teams in the WWE. With their hardcore-style technique, and their infamous TLC matches, these two won the World Tag Team Championships seven times between 2000 and 2001.2. The Hart FoundationAnother team from our neighbors to the north, Bret and Owen Hart won two World Tag Titles and proved their superiority to anyone who wanted the belts. Even after their separation, Bret and Owen continued to dominate the tag team division for different teams.1. Dudley BoyzUndoubtedly the best tag team in all of professional wrestling.
Having jumped from ECW, the hardcore brothers won eight World Tag Championships and one WWE Tag Title in their stint in WWE, and have won even more in ECW and TNA.HONORABLE MENTIONS: New Age Outlaws, Too Cool, Los GuerrerosI welcome any feedback/comments, and be sure to check out my next article, on the top 10 champions of the now-defunct divisions.. Fans in the MMA community know about plenty of the MMA sites which contain forums. But to those who do not follow women's MMA, a female mixed martial artist by the name of Debi Purcell not only fights hard but she also speaks for women mixed martial artists everywhere. Fightergirls is her brain child and the forum on her sight has comments from many top rated female fighters.[Earth to MMA fans: Purcell should be given more credit than Gina Carano who does not hit the gym. Purcell could gladly hold the belt as "the female face of MMA."]Understandably many avid fans are sick of hearing about how horrible of a job the EliteXC did of presenting MMA as a skillful sport full of hardworking fighters. But Kaitlin Young offered her two cents about the fight with Carano and MMA fans should know what she said.[FYI: PostPosted: Mon Jun 02, 2008 2:34 am]"My left cheek and area surrounding the eye are looking pretty ugly today, but there was no major damage," said Young. Though it may have looked like it on tv, I never actually had an open wound."Even when watching the fight there was no blood coming from either fighter. The eye was swollen but in any male fight for any other organization the eye would have been cut and the fight would have continued. Is this one way MMA organizations will treat women differently? Will women not be able to bleed because of society's feelings of abuse against women? Really women are not fighting men and are choosing to get into the ring or cage so it should not be an issue. If someone does not like it they just should not watch."What you didn't see was that the doctor actually cleared me to fight the third round but the commission said "no". I wanted to continue, my corner wanted to continue," said Young. "The cut likely would have opened in the third but it was under the eye. If I had to guess, I would say that they didn't want the visual of a woman with a bloody face on CBS."If the commission did not stop the fight because they thought women bleeding on t.v. would be bad for business, are they just protecting Gina Carano's image of being the female face of MMA? After all, a loss for Carano would have meant a smudge on her record. "They also chose not to do a post fight interview with me or to include me in the post fight news conference and after party," said Young.
"I think the reason for that was my beat-up appearance after the fight because I was not seriously injured and was completely coherent."Was this to protect the public from a "battered woman" or to protect Carano? Maybe Young is more personable and could have "stolen the show" so to speak at the press conference. Lets face it, personality is not Carano's strong point."I am very disappointed about that but can't help but wonder how people would have responded to that, as stupid as it is," said Young. "I think if people were shocked or upset by the look of it they may have been put at ease a bit by seeing that I was okay. I think some people probably assumed the worst because I basically disappeared from the camera after the fight.""I'm not trying to be one of those people "Well, I would have won if they had let it go into the third round so it wasn't my fault. Yada yada yada...." Gina was obviously getting the better of me at that point in the fight, but I wasn't ready to be done," said Young. "It really bothers me that I didn't get a chance to thank my sponsors and all that jazz." .
The list of National League first basemen is stacked It was very hard to pick just five top players Eleven first basemen stuck out to me. Todd Helton, Conor Jackson, Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder, Joe Votto and James Loney will not appear on this list. However, they are to be congratulated for having good seasons so far this year.5. Mark Teixeira , Atlanta BravesMarkTeixeira, having played just over 100 games as a Brave is probably still making the transition into being a National League player.Teixeira has a .273 batting average his season.
